Chemistry
Associate of Science - Transfer, Track 1 (LRST1AS)This pathway is designed to meet Associate in Science Track 1 degree requirements with a concentration in Chemistry.
This pre-major pathway is designed to prepare you to transfer at the 3rd year level into a chemistry or related program at a four-year college or university. Chemistry plays a role in almost everything we do and is closely connected with biology, math and physics. During your studies, you鈥檒l learn about matter and energy down to the molecular level. Courses build a solid foundation in general chemistry and develop your understanding of the scientific method of experimentation, observation and analysis of results. You鈥檒l also gain hands-on experiences in the lab.
Often called the 鈥渃entral science,鈥 a degree in chemistry is excellent preparation for careers in a variety of fields, such as:
- Pharmacy
- Environmental sciences
- Pharmaceuticals
- Biotechnology
- Nutrition
- Medicine
- Dentistry
If you are fascinated with what makes up matter, how different matter interacts, and how these interactions can be applied to create new substances and solve practical problems, completion of a chemistry degree could be the right choice for you.
